Guam has it’s fair share of bakeries–each offering something that allows them to be unique. In this case, Guam Bakery is the place to go if you’re looking for donuts beyond your basic glaze and sugar coated. Now don’t get me wrong, Guam Bakery does more than just donuts—they offer baked goods, incredible detailed tiered cakes for special occasions and more….but they are my go to when I need to start my day off right (and with some sugar!)

My favorite it is the Glazed Ube(“ooo-bee” or “ooo-bay”). A beautiful purple hued donut covered in a delicious glaze. The glaze creates this shell like coating and pairs great with the chew from the ube donut. When I am feeling purplicious, I opt for the ube donut covered with an ube glaze. What is ube? It is a purple yam. It’s popular here on island and really big in the Philippines.

Another one that is a must try is your standard cake donut coated with Ube glaze and topped with Fruity Pebbles! With one bite, this one had me reminiscing about the Saturday mornings I’d be up early watching Looney Tunes when I was younger. The glaze takes on a almost milky taste and feel…I swear, if you close your eyes, it’s like your chowing down on a bowl of the colorful cereal.

PB lovers will dig this one- a cake donut that is chocolate covered and topped with Reese’s Peanut Butter cereal. Believe it or not, the chocolate tapers the sweetness so you really get the PB taste.

And if you aren’t too keen about donut holes….they even have Bavarian Creme filled rounds topped with everything–in this case, it’s mint glazed topped with crushed Oreos. Like a mint chocolate milkshake in a donut!
And the awesome thing about Guam Bakery, is that they are open to suggestions. Whether it be a cereal or a filling….they love experimenting with flavor combos.
