Pieology: The study of pizza

While Guam has it’s fair share of pizza joints…one stands out above the rest. Pieology is not only making delicious pies…they are making it how YOU like it. Opened since May of this year, Pielogy, which is located in Tamuning adjacent to IHOP, is offering personally inspired pizzas in about 5-10 minutes time.

According to General Manager Champ Camacho, Pieology

It’s simple. First, you pick a crust. Choose from white, wheat, or gluten-free. Then select a sauce: house red, herb butter, olive oil, fiery buffalo, pesto, bbq, or 3-cheese alfredo. Next select a cheese-mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan, feta, gorgonzola, or vegan mozzarella. Then pick what meats you desire- pepperoni, sausage, meatball, canadian bacon, all natural bacon, all natural chicken and all natural spicy chicken.

Here comes the fun part—the toppings! What will it be? Black olives, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, red onions, green peppers, artichokes, jalapenos, garlic, pineapple, kalamata olives, fresh corn, cilantro, spinach, banana peppers, basil, and roasted red peppers. With so many ingredients…really, the possibilities are endless.

Now for some, the power to create a pizza from scratch can be overwhelming…so don’t worry, there are an array of yummy signature pizzas you can choose from.

There is the Alfredo’s Alfredo. The cream sauce is light and flavorful. The artichoke really works well and the cherry tomatoes offer a nice sweet pop.

For the carnivores there is “Mad to Meat You.”

The Hickory BBQ Chicken has a nice smokiness to it. The tang of the bbq sauce and the alfredo sauce provide an excellent canvas for the all natural chicken.

My favorite is the Rustic Veggie. The combo of ricotta and mozzarella along with the crispy red onions and the sweetness of the corn offers a nice texture and balance.

The pizzas are thin crust and 11 1/2 inches in size…perfect for yourself or order up a bunch and share among  family and friends. And although pizza is normally viewed as junk food….at Pieology you can create a healthy pie with the awesome ingredients offered and not feel guilty.

Pieology is open Sunday-Thursday 11am-10pm and Friday & Saturday 11am-midnight. For more information you can check out pieology.com.
