Mid-January I took a much needed vacation. Destination–> Sydney, Australia. A place I have fallen in love with over and over. With this being our fourth trip to Sydney, I was beyond excited. Prior to departing to the land down under, I made a list of all the restaurants and foods I had to try….my husband and I compromised, we do all the things on his list– museums, Hunter Valley wine tour, etc. if we got to do mine! Deal!
Upon arriving at the Kingsford Smith International Airport in Sydney, we were welcomed with a beautiful sunrise. Before you know it, we grabbed our shuttle and made our way to our hotel (our home for the next 3 weeks)! We checked in at the Vibe Hotel on Goulburn Street.
It was walking distance to so many places like China Town, Harbourside, Capitol Theatre, Hay Market and Paddy’s Market…and I have to say, many of the places on my list were just minutes away!

Once we settled in and freshened up, it was lunchtime and we were starving! We made our way to Meat District Co. located on King Street Wharf. I found out about this place via Instagram. And how did they land on my list, you ask? Ribs, burgers, and beer.

After reviewing the menu, I decided to have their sliders trio-crispy free-range fried chicken, pulled lamb, & beef. Soooo good and juicy. My favorite of the three was the pulled lamb which had the texture of pork but that hint of gaminess let you know it was lamb. It wasn’t dry, it was tender and it worked so well with the bun.
The food, drinks, ambiance, and service was superb. And a bonus– you can sit outside and soak up the view of the harbour along with all the hustle and bustle.
After our meal, we walked around to not only burn those burger calories but also to re-acquaint ourselves with the Central Business District (CBD). With the weather being perfectly sunny at about 90 degrees, I was craving something to cool us down. Thanks to my husband’s awesome sense of direction, we found another place on my list– i-Creamy Artisan Gelato. Located in the Skyview Plaza on George Street, i-creamy is known for their award winning flower gelato.

I love me some good food presentation and good gelato…so you know I had to hit this place up. You choose your flavors from a list that is strictly for those who want the flower gelato. I opted for bubble gum (baby blue) and black sesame (grey). The hubby selected green tea and fairy floss (cotton candy).
Come on! It was too pretty to eat! But after snapping my photos, I was like, “Who am I kidding?” I devoured it. So creamy, refreshing, and not overly sweet….you get the flavors instantly and they complimented one another! I was intrigued by the flower making process…check it out.
