A fave spot within Darling Harbour, Sydney

This island girl fell in love with Sydney, Australia back in 2011- the first trip we made out there and it has had my heart ever since. Our first trip was a week long belated honeymoon. Although we didn’t have enough time to do all we wanted….we knew we’d be back. And we went back 4 more times after that…with each trip longer and us falling more and more intro Sydney’s lovely trance. While the adventure was always different with each vacation, one place was always part of our Sydney experience- Darling Harbour, specifically Harbourside.

We could spend the whole day at Darling Harbour (Harbourside) and not get tired of it… there is so much to do and take in— the people, the sights, the sounds, the art, and the food. A restaurant we always made it a point to visit was Zaaffran located on the second floor. Zaaffran offers authentic Indian cuisine within a sophisticated yet laid back atmosphere. Whenever we stop by we always order the same thing and we are never disappointed. For me, I tend to eat with my eyes and the presentation and the colors are so vivid and crisp which is no surprise because Zaaffran is Indian for Saffron- an incredible and intense spice known for it’s rich color and flavor.

Along with a wonderful menu, you are also treated to a beautiful view of the harbour.

I have to admit, the one item we always end up order seconds of is the amazing Kumbhi Naan which is mushroom naan with truffle butter! It’s a dish you can only find at Zaaffran and it is soooo delish. You get the fluffiness of the naan with the pops of the firm mushrooms and then the buttery goodness of the truffle. Gah, I’m salivating as I type this!
