For Mother’s Day, the hubby decided to take me to one of our favorite spots on island- Al Dente located in the Hyatt Regency Guam. Instead of opting for our usual squid ink pasta and rack of lamb dishes, we decided to be adventurous and go for the Fiorentina. A Fiorentina consists of a T-bone traditionally sourced from either the Chianina or Maremmana breeds of cattle. Considered a favorite of Tuscan cuisine, it is usually cooked over a wood or charcoal fire with minimal seasoning.
The steak, which is good for 4 people is $100 but well worth the price! It came with a choice of three sides. We decided on broccoli, asparagus, and roasted red potatoes.
Our eyes widened when we saw the big slab of beef on this wooden mound being delivered to our candle lit table. The smell coming off of the medium rare Fiorentina was incredible.
After a few photos…it was time to dig in. The first bite? It was a flavor explosion! What an experience! It was a steak like no other….the taste was amazing! The meat was so tender and juicy. Each bite was amplified with the himalayan salt, sea salt, and black pepper that was served alongside the massive piece of meat.
If you ever have the opportunity and the appetite, try the Fiorentina at Al Dente at the Hyatt Regency Guam. For more information or to make reservations, you can call #671-647-1234.
